This is the most famous client's question, and is the hardest one to answer. Exactly
this answer depends on the laptop model that you have. Some laptops can run for
5 hours or more off of their battery, others may last less than 2 hours before
they need to recharge the battery. Remember that the size of the screen (particularly
if set at the brigh test setting), hard
drives,DVDRW/CDRW Drives,CDRW/DVD
Drives, and wireless network, the power of your processor (PIII, P4, etc),
your hard drive, and many other things such as the programs you are running (DVD,
CD-Burning, Word Processing)
Gadgets like laptops use two types of batteries, nickel-cadmium or nickel metal
hydride batteries and lithium batteries( Li-Ion, Li-Poly). The nickel batteries
are the older version of batteries and are not as famous today after lithium batteries
came into the market.
It is a known fact that the lithium batteries hold charge better than the nickel
batteries, therefore if you are going to buy a new gadget it is better that you
choose the one with lithium battery so that it will hold charge better and for
a longer duration of time.
Batteries charge depends on their capacity to hold power. Generally laptop battery
will hold charge for four to five hours. This depends on the usage of the laptop,
if you are going to use the laptop for all functions and actively then the battery
might hold charge for a lesser period of time. One way of conserving power is
to go to your Power Management settings icon in the Control Panel. You can shut
off settings or programs you do not use. Also consider dimming your screen and
shutting off your wireless card when you don't need it.
Most of the batteries today are designed for a recharging for 400 times. Therefore
technically your battery should give you good service till about two years. You
require following instructions given by the manufacturer when you buy this gadget.
All types of batteries should be recharged once they tell you that the recharge
is necessary. It is not advisable that your battery blanks out before every
recharge, this too would damage the battery and reduce the battery life.
All batteries start losing their capacities once the charging is not done properly,
it will take you some time to notice the change, that the battery which was
once working for more that three days, now requires charging everyday. Once
this starts happening, the deterioration is faster and you may require changing
the battery within some months time or earlier.
In case of laptop batteries you can try rebuilding them. Batteries need to
be handled carefully and their recharging routine needs to be followed carefully,
without which there might be damage to your laptop batteries and changing these
might seem inevitable. You can buy a wide range of portable components here.
And one of the most important things about laptop batteries is the choice of
a new or a used/refurbished .Refurbished batteries do not hold as much power
when compared to new batteries. Also, they can kick the bucket on you randomly
since you really do not know how old the battery is. Our recommendation is to
stick with a new battery, or be very careful who you buy your refurbished battery
from.In our shop we suggest only tne new batteries and other portable components
